- Visit the restored shearing shed and the Old Homestead
- Take the self-guided Uncle Gill’s walk around the restored shearing shed and sheep yards
- Stroll through the re-vegetation plantings on either side of the entrance road
- Hike from the Balcanoona trail-head on the Ridge-Walk trail to the 230m lookout point for views over Balcanoona
- Hike south-east then turn north-east up to the summit of Vulkathunha-Mangu (277m) for views over Balcanoona, Echo Point and the Arkaroola road
- Drive out to Munda (Lake Frome). Look for Desert Pea along the way; cross the dog fence; try to see Lake Eyre Dragons while walking on the lake surface
- Wander east or west along the usually dry Balcanoona Creek bed that runs past Balcanoona Headquarters – what birds can you see? (use our bird identification brochure to name them see: BirdBro )
